Hello my dear friends,
It has been ages since you have heard from me. Some busy weeks have passed and one more busy week is still coming. The school year is going to an end and therefore we are busy with giving grades, preparing for graduation, the concert and a few other things.
After that I will finally go on vacation – hopefully.

Chill out at the bonfire
But now let me tell you what happened during the past month. Basically not so much! We had a little bit more quite time, because the students of IBC went on their mission trip. It was nice though, because we also received some visitors during that time. Since some of you know the people I am gonna mention the names: Heike came to visit, Martha and Werner (the people who brought Guro here), as well as Naomi Jackson, and a couple from Peru/Chile, which are making a video/movie about the Campus. So even though it has been quieter, it has also been exciting to meet new and already known people.
We also had more work to do, because Jennita, the principal as well as the fourth grade teacher, left for four weeks. Therefore everyone had to take some of the classes – I had to take English classes, which was quite some more work to do, but it was very blessed, because that way I got to know the students of 4th grade. All of them are really nice and lovely.
As well I had to preach my first sermon – which I was actually looking forward to – but it just happened that I got sick right the week before. So on Sabbath, still being very sick and not as well prepared as I wanted, I had to preach. In the morning of Sabbath I felt terrible, so I wanted to call my dad, but he was not available – which made it even harder for me, because my dad was always the one to give me confidence and help. But I can see that also through that, God tried to teach me, to rely more on him.

I think I never felt as strong that Satan tries to pull me down than on that Sabbath – the only thing I wanted to do was to run away. I almost spent the whole hour before my sermon with crying and praying, reading Gods promises. I just knew, that I myself was not able to preach this sermon. But God showed to me that he keeps his promises and that he is the one who works through us. As soon as I had to go to the front, God worked through me; he took my fear and the right words to preach were just there. So that was a very blessed experience for me.
I also learned how to make “Tamal”. Most of you probably wonder what that is 😀 Let me explain!! It is a typical and very yummy Honduran food! They make a dough out of corn and into that they put a bean filling. This they put into the leaves of the plantain tree to boil it! Because it tastes so nice I thought that I should learn how to prepare that J And so one lady from town invited Bonny and me to teach us how to prepare “Tamal”. It was really much fun and I even learned how to make Corn Tortillas.
So my last weeks have been very exciting and I have learned a lot. I am looking forward to the next weeks and I will let you know more about my vacation in my next blog post.
Lots of love,
Hanna
